3 Gleam Inspired Drink Recipes

Tiffany here! If you know me, you know I’m OBSESSED with collagen. I SWEAR BY GLEAM. Giving Bionic my first born. Sadly, so is Dan which means he DRAINS my stash.  Literally the only thing we argue about is collagen… it’s THAT good.  (Not kidding. Collagen powder is one product you can SEE + FEEL results.  Like truly… My hair has grown like a WEED and I have new growth ALL the time.  My nails are STRONG and LONG – something I’ve never had my entire life. My skin GLOWS and is perfectly plump and firm in all the right places (which if were being honest, is what sold Dan on using my collagen in the first place).  

I always get asked... "Remind me that collagen you swear by again?" So let's just cut to the chase, it's GLEAM. 

Here’s the kicker… like anything in life… if you want to see results you need to  BE CONSISTENT.  So don’t expect to try this once and have it change your life.  You need to make this a daily practice (which is so easy, its stupid) and that’s when the magic happens.  And I mean MAGIC

 

MATCHA COLLAGEN LATTE

 

I first picked up this idea from a trip to Whole Foods. They had a sign at the coffee station that said “collagen matcha latte”.  I already loved matcha, and lord knows I already loved collagen… this was a no brainer for me. So I asked them so show me how they made it and came up with my own way at home.  

So here you are… I give you my Collagen Matcha Latte recipe.  I’m giving you two options: a Nutri-Bullet option + a cute little bamboo whisk option.  

If you’ve never used matcha before here’s a few things you need to know when making matcha.

  1. It’s a SUPER super fine powder and  a LITTLE goes a LONG way.  At most you use anywhere between 1/2-2/4 tsp.
  2. IT CLUMPS.  Oh Lord does it clump!  So what you do is add the powder into a mug, cup… whatever.  And then a TOUCH of hot water to the powder. This is your chance to whisk out all the clumps.   because there will be clumps unless you have a little matcha bamboo whisk. Trust me, I’ve been in desperate situations and tried to use other methods… pointless.  It’s a whisk, or a blender. Otherwise just get use to the clumps, there’s just no way around it. 
  3. MATCHA IS LIFE. If you google the benefits you’ll wonder why you ever waste your time with coffee or regular green tea, ever again. I’ll quickly touch on just a few of my favorite benefits and then let’s get onto it, shall we?
  • 1 cup of MATCHA = the benefit of 10 CUPS OF GREEN TEA. (mic drop…)
  • 137x’s the anti-oxidants of green tea. (UMMM… YES PLEASE!) 
  • Energy without anxiety, crash, or jitters. (Where do I sign?)
  • Mental clarity, boosts immunity, BURNS CALORIES, anti-inflammatory, powerful detoxing properties… PACKED with vitamins + minerals… okay, okay you get the idea. Just google it.  SHIT’S GOOD.

 

 

MATHCA COLLAGEN LATTE RECIPE

NUTRI-BULLET OPTION

  1. 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of  MATCHA POWDER  into a mug.
  2. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup hot (but not quite boiling), and whisk with  BAMBOO WHISKER  until all clumps are gone. 
  3. Pour in hot water (whatever drinking temp you like) into mug – swirl with spoon and transfer into  NUTRI-BULLET  (aka – the love of my LIFE).  
  4. Add 1 scoop of GLEAM.
  5. Add milk or creamer of choice. As little or as much as you prefer.  
  6. Lightly sweeten with agave, honey, or maple syrup.  
  7. Blend in NUTRI-BULLET for 15-20 seconds.  Release lid very SLOWLY and carefully as the hot water builds up a LOT of pressure.
  8. ENJOY! 

WHISK OPTION

  1. 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of  MATCHA POWDER  into a mug.
  2. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup hot (but not quite boiling), and whisk with  BAMBOO WHISKER  until all clumps are gone. 
  3. Pour in hot water (whatever drinking temp you like) into mug.
  4. Gently stir in 1 scoop of GLEAM.
  5. Add milk or creamer of choice.  As little or as much as you prefer.  
  6. Lightly sweeten with agave, honey, or maple syrup.
  7. Whisk all together.
  8. ENJOY!

Current favorite matcha tea.

 

These bamboo whisks are GAME CHANGERS. I avoided buying one at all costs... the second I gave in, I kicked myself for being a cheap ass and not investing in one.
 
This little gem is a LIFE SAVER. SO easy to use and freakishly easy to clean. What more could you ask for?

COLLAGEN PROTEIN LATTE

This is how I learned to LOVE protein shakes instead of chugging them down and getting it over with.  

The perfect mix of caffeine and getting in your daily protein… also, it’s just damn good. 

PROTEIN LATTE RECIPE

NURTI-BULLET OPTION

  1. Pour cold* or room temp coffee into blender (as much or as little as you’d like). 
  2. Add favorite milk or creamer (as much or as little as you’d like).
  3. Add scoop of GLEAM.
  4. Add 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder. 
    I love chocolate, Dan loves Vanilla.  If I’m feeling crazy I’ll mix them both.
  5. Add cinnamon (as much or as little as you’d like). 
  6. Add a couple ice cubes. I like 2 cubes but you do you…
  7. Blend in  Nutri-Bullet for 15-20 seconds. 
  8. Sprinkle with cinnamon if you want to get fancy + ENJOY! 

*It’s tempting to use hot water for this latte… but from my experience hot water and protein powder just don’t mix.  It just makes everything CLUMPY + CURDLEY AF. So bad. So so bad.

PROTEIN SHAKER OPTION

  1. Pour cold or room temp coffee into your favorite protein shaker bottle (as much or as little as you’d like).
  2. Add favorite milk or creamer (as much or as little as you’d like).
  3. Add scoop of GLEAM.
  4. Add 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder.  
  5. Add cinnamon (as much or as little as you’d like). 
  6. Add a couple ice cubes. I like 2 cubes but you do you…
  7. Shake  blender bottle  until ice cubes have completely melted (about one minute). 
  8. Sprinkle with cinnamon if you want to get fancy + ENJOY!

My mug of choice for ALL these drinks. It's the one thing I left in storage that I wish I would have brought with me to Hawaii. 

MY GREEN GREEN DRINK

Listen, if I’m having a green drink… it better be GREEN.  I don’t want it to taste like fruit… I want it to taste GREEN. GREEN GREEN. You get the idea.

So here is my favorite morning green GREEN drink. 

GREEN GREEN COLLAGEN DRINK

  1. LEMON.  Chunky lemon slice.  I leave the peel ON because its chalk full of minerals + fiber, INCLUDING VITAMIN C.  HELLO IMMUNE BOOST!
  2. GINGER.  Chunk of ginger.  Notice there aren’t specific measurements… it’s because you need to do YOU.  What you like the most. I’m a sucker for ginger so I’ll put more in my drink than most people will.  So just go heavy on what you like and light on the things you don’t like as much. Ya feel?
  3. CUCUMBER.  Cucumbers give you MEGA hydration.  They keep your gut happy + help fight stress.  I’ll take ALL those things!
  4. SPINACH.  Helps skin tone + Collagen production + has HIGH levels of vitamins. What’s not to love?
  5. WATER.  The less water, the thicker it will be.  So just find the consistency you like. The nice thing about blending and NOT juicing is that you get ALL the fiber – which keeps your gut happy and helps keep you full longer.
  6. GLEAM.  The magic. THIS COLLAGEN IS LIFE. I'M NOT KIDDING AROUND.
  7. BLEND.  Back to my old trusty  Nutri-Bullet.  Add more water to make it not as thick, if that’s what you prefer.  If you need to sweeten it, add a half an apple.
  8. ICE CUBES.  Throw in a few ice cubes (or blend them in if you prefer). 
  9. ENJOY! Throw in your reusable straw –my favorite ones are here.  
I love having the straight and angled options. I NEED OPTIONS.
